Thanks to the support of the community we have already made a great start on our share offer! If you have already invested you may still be wondering how else you can help? Below our some ideas on how you can help us meet our goal.

Tell Your Friends! 

If you have already invested, please let people know why and encourage them to do the same. There are many reasons why someone would invest and it is not all about going to the pub! We are running numerous drop-in sessions to allow people to meet the committee and get answers to any questions they may still have.

Follow us on Twitter and Facebook.  Like, share and comment on our posts – the more interaction we receive on our posts the more visibility we will get.  Share details of our web site with friends, relatives, colleagues and anyone you know who might be willing to invest. Remember, you don’t need to live in the village to invest.

Get Involved Directly

Dedicating some time to the campaign is a great way to understand more about what we are doing. It is also a sociable and fun way to meet other local residents while giving something back to your community. 

We still have a lot that needs doing, from organising awareness & fund-raising events, spreading the word through leaflet drops or contributing expertise if you have specific skills.  We need ongoing support in many areas, including:

• Fundraising
• Property management
• Building & renovation
• Hospitality
• Legal
• Accountancy

If you are concerned about time commitment then don’t be, there is no minimum requirement and there are many bite-size opportunities you can support.

There are many reasons to buy Bladon Community Pub shares including your property price.

A recent survey showed that 23% of buyers thought having a good local was an important part of their decision-making process and that close proximity to a popular pub could add as much as 10% to property prices.

If you haven’t already done so, this is another important reason to buy pub shares…not to mention the negative impact that having a boarded up pub could have on your house value!

This is a real opportunity for the White House to become more than a pub. It’s not just about keeping a boozer, it’s the last remaining community facility in the village and has so much potential. Take a look at some of the additional suggestions from the community pub survey in 2019.

• Simple dishes using local produce

• Social and community events
• Parcel drop off point
• Basic shop facilities
• Wifi and meeting space

We have just 3 weeks until the share offer closes on 31^st January 2020 and have had £62,000 in shares purchased to date.

Do you have a question about pub shares? The committee will be available this Sunday, 12am – 2pm in Bladon Church Rooms. Get in touch any time via email, Facebook or Twitter. We’ll be updating FAQs with new questions as they come in, this week we’ve been asked:

• When will I receive confirmation of my share purchase?
• Can I have a paper share prospectus and application form?

Over the Christmas period we had £54,600 of shares purchased. It’s a great start but with just over 3 weeks until the share offer closes, we really need you to buy your shares now.

If you have any questions, please come and see us at one of the drop-in sessions or get in touch via email.

We’ll be updating the FAQs with new questions as they come in. The latest questions include:

• Can I buy shares on behalf of a company I own?
• Who will have access to my share investment information?

The time is now and we need your support to make the Bladon Community Pub bid a success.

Come and see us at one of the drop-in events in January. We’ll be on hand to answer questions and help you make a share application. The share offer closes 31st January 2020.

As we see out 2019 and welcome in the new decade it’s a chance to reflect on an eventful year. A community uniting to save the only pub in our village, new friends made, supporters from near and far. Hopefully we’ll be seeing in 2021 in our new community pub. Cheers to that!

We may have been a little quiet for a few weeks, it has been all hands on deck to get the business plan and Share Offer Document ready for launch.

We are delighted to formally open the Bladon Community Pub Share Offer. The share offer will be open between 13^th December 2019 and 31^st January 2020.

We all want our pub to be the hub of the community once again. This is a unique opportunity for the community to help save the White House.
