Outdoor Space Policy

We, the tenants of The White House, Bladon Public House undertake the responsibility to manage the outdoor spaces in a manner that is respectful and community focused way. We outline the following policy to reduce issues, whilst maintaining trade and adhering to both environmental health laws and our licensing agreement.

  1. Any music, performed, amplified or background- will finish at 10.30pm during the week and 11pm on weekends.
  2. A decibel meter will be used during live music events to ensure sound levels are within the boundary of the environmental health recommended limits.
  3. Monitoring will include regular checks at the site boundary and will be logged.
    Volume levels will be adjusted immediately if noise is considered likely to cause nuisance.
  4. Any sound equipment used externally will be positioned and controlled to minimise noise breakout.
  5. The landlords and managers will also keep a check on all outside areas to monitor and manage the spaces in a respectful way.
  6. Prominent signage will be displayed requesting customers to:
    • Respect local residents
    • Keep noise to a minimum
    • Leave the premises quietly
  7. Customers behaving in a manner likely to cause disturbance will be advised accordingly and, where necessary, asked to leave.
  8. We will adhere to the times of our local council trading hours, with any extensions advertised in advance.
  9. Live music events will be advertised in advance in house, on our website https://thewhitehousebladon.com, social media pages and on boards outside the pub.
  10. The premises will maintain a log of any complaints relating to noise or disturbance. A contact method (telephone/email) will be made available to residents upon request. All complaints will be recorded, investigated promptly and responded to appropriately. Where necessary, operational practices will be reviewed to prevent recurrence.
  11. This policy will be reviewed periodically and updated as necessary, particularly in response to:
    • Changes in legislation or licence conditions
    • Feedback from responsible authorities
    • Community or resident concerns
    This policy is active from the date above and is available upon request to members of the public, responsible authorities, and the local community.
